With a passion for problem-solving and helping others in difficult situations, Caroline Hubbard was drawn to a legal career. By joining the Law Offices of Jonathan Merel in Chicago, she can use her talents for good. When people come to our firm with complex family law problems and heated divorces, she always knows how to reduce the size of the issues so they become much more manageable for everyone involved.
Caroline graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in French. She then received her Juris Doctor from Tulane University School of Law in 2021, where she earned a Certificate in Civil Law. That same year, she was admitted to the Illinois Bar. Earning bar membership in the same year as completing a J.D. is a rare achievement for attorneys across the country.
During her time at Tulane, Caroline served as a mentor to incoming first-year students. In this role, she deepened her passion for guiding people through tough spots and challenges, which applies directly to her work as a family lawyer. She was also a volunteer tax preparer with the law school’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program and a member of the Civil Law Society. Again, the work she did as a volunteer tax preparer proves invaluable now because many family law cases are heavily integrated with tax implications, such as spousal maintenance and child support.
Before joining the Law Offices of Jonathan Merel, P.C., Caroline worked in the regulatory and licensing department of a multi-state operating company. She uses the experience gained in that role to better organize legal documents and complicated situations.
Caroline lives in Chicago with her husband and two dogs. When she is not practicing law, Caroline enjoys dog walks through the city and watching football, both American and European.
