Madelyn has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since 2012 and joined the firm in March of 2022. With a decade of experience, Madelyn understands not only the family law system and legal landscape but also the personal nuance of individual families navigating unfamiliar terrain. Madelyn fosters a trusting and open client relationship, prioritizing a collaborative working environment that elevates her client’s needs, concerns, and priorities across the continuum of services from initial consultation to the final proceedings.
In the years prior to matriculating in law school, Madelyn traveled to Chicago to complete two summer clerkships with the Child Protection and Juvenile divisions for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. During this time, Madelyn discovered her commitment to advocating for children and their families.
Madelyn graduated from DePaul College of Law in 2013 as a family law fellow of the Schiller DuCanto and Fleck Family Law Center and earned a Certificate in Child and Family Law. Further, she volunteered at Cook County Domestic Violence Courthouse where she assisted women in pursuit of civil orders of protection. Madelyn also volunteered as a court-appointed CASA advocate for children in the child welfare system, ensuring their interests were represented in complex child neglect and abuse cases. These experiences contributed to Madelyn’s intimate understating of domestic violence and mental health as they relate to divorce and parenting disputes.
In her free time, Madelyn is a DONA trained birth doula. She takes a special interest in supporting parents through pregnancy, labor, and early parenthood. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and son, particularly in the outdoors where they are avid hikers, paddlers, and skiers.
